Partnership School

St. Andrew’s School and Halstead Preparatory School for Girls are forming a partnership to create a co-ed school, with the plan to educate around 500 pupils aged 2 to 16, across two sites in Woking.

Our partnership school will be called Halstead St Andrew’s School and will open in September 2023.

Our vision is to build on the current success of both schools, develop the best we both offer and create a dynamic and exciting new school which prepares pupils for an ever-changing world.

Our Nursery and Pre-Prep will be based at the Halstead site, Woodham Rise, a stimulating and age appropriate environment for our youngest pupils, which will create a happy and secure learning environment. There will be expert, class-based and specialist teachers to inspire and nurture the pupils.

From Year 3, pupils will be based at our St. Andrew’s School site, Church Hill House. Here they will enjoy continuing outstanding teaching and our well-appointed facilities and extensive playing fields. They will then have the opportunity to stay at Halstead St Andrew’s through to GCSE.

Transport will be provided free of charge for siblings in the Prep School via a morning bus from Pre-Prep to Prep.

Having the two dedicated sites will allow us to maintain a small and nurturing school atmosphere in each, while the resources and security that are part of a larger school will ensure that the teaching and learning environment is entirely appropriate for the different age groups.

One of the defining features of Halstead St Andrew’s School will be freedom of choice. Whilst we hope that pupils will progress from our Prep School to our Senior School, we will continue to welcome and prepare pupils opting for other senior schools at both 11+ and 13+. We will also continue to support parents in finding the next stage school that is best suited to their child’s individual needs. This flow of incoming pupils at key transition points will create a stimulating and energised educational environment. The School will extend its provision to Year 9 in September 2026.

We will support all our pupils in taking their place in the community and the wider world, demonstrating civic duty and interpersonal skills alongside the ability to think creatively. In an ever-changing world, in which our pupils will face many challenges, we believe the environment we create will foster adaptability and reflect society today.

At Halstead St Andrew’s School a successful education will go beyond academic studies. We are confident that pupils will leave as well-rounded, determined young adults, prepared for the future.
