Focus on Nursery - Mrs Knowles

I am an Early Years primary school teacher, originally from Kingston Upon Thames. With a degree in French and Spanish, I started my teaching career at an infant school in North Somerset teaching Reception aged children in a small village setting. After a move back to Surrey to be closer to family, I took a position at an outer London primary school where I held the role of Modern Foreign Languages Coordinator. In 2017, I accepted the position of Nursery class teacher at St. Andrew's School, Woking.

I was excited to accept a teaching role at St. Andrew’s as it has a great reputation locally for its quality of teaching and pastoral care. During my first school visits, I saw how the school generates a sense of community, drawing together parents, children and staff, which makes for a caring, nurturing environment. It was an exciting time to join the school as we were just entering the first stage of a building project to transform the senior school and add new facilities, such as a theatre with fantastic tiered seating and library. Outdoor learning is a particular passion of mine and the school boasts some wonderful outdoor spaces that include a wonderful new Nursery outdoor playground, complete with role play area.
