St. Andrew’s Alumni Music Concert - Raising Funds for Woking Hospice
As part of the opening celebrations of their new facilities, St. Andrew’s School were delighted to invite some of their past pupils to perform in the new Little Field Theatre to celebrate the talents of St. Andrew’s musicians over the last 10-20 years. The gifted musicians rehearsed throughout the afternoon at the school before putting on the concert in the evening, whilst also taking time to reminisce about their school days at St. Andrew’s and clearly enjoying the opportunity to meet with fellow alumni. Musical performances ranged from whole group performances to individual solo pieces together with wind and vocal ensembles.
The evening was a great success, with over £1,500 raised for Woking and Sam Beare Hospices – a patient centred charity that delivers specialist palliative care to adult patients of all ages who have life-limiting and terminal illnesses. Mr Tim Stokes, Chairman of Woking Hospice, who attended the concert, was very pleased to accept the cheque on behalf of the local Woking charity.
Mr Adrian Perks, Headmaster at St. Andrew’s, commented: “It was truly wonderful to see and hear so many of our past pupils perform in this very special concert. We feel very privileged that so many of our alumni were keen to give up their time to perform in our new theatre and to help us raise much-needed funds for Woking Hospice. Our thanks go to everyone who performed and to our enthusiastic audience for their generosity in raising so much for such a worthwhile charity.”
