Years 5 & 6
From Year 5 onwards children enjoy the benefits of further specialist teaching and are increasingly taught in dedicated subject classrooms around the school.
In Year 6 the length of supervised prep increases to a compulsory 60 minutes per day. Year 5 and 6 are vital years for every child at St. Andrew's.
It is during this period that children are assessed for aptitude and progress and decisions are made with regard to potential senior school options. Parents are invited to meet with the Headmaster who will then advise based on the individual academic and pastoral needs of the children. Extensive preparation takes place in Year 6 for pre-tests which normally take place in the Easter term.
